Narrow-leaf Cologania.
Cologania angustifolia.
Bean (Fabaceae) family.
A trifoliate twining herb with long leaf segments. The petals are purple and the calyx has four lobes. 2 of the 5 calyx lobes are fused. The pod is appressed hairy. Cologania angustifolia is found at upper elevation. When juvenile, the long leaf segments are broader and more triangular.
Santa Catalina Mountains.
Location: On shoulder of dirt road off of Sunset Trail trailhead.
