Plants (30-)40-80(-100) cm. Leaves: apices straight (not recurved to coiled), faces initially tomentulose to floccose, soon glabrescent. Peduncles distally inflated. Involucres conic in bud. Outer florets much shorter than phyllaries; corollas yellow.
