Wildflowers of Southern Arizona
Many-flowered Puccoon.
Lithospermum multiflorum.
Borage (Boraginaceae) family.
The plant is 9 - 18 inches tall and has basal leaves smaller than puccoon. Leaves are alternate and close together on the stem; the upper leaves are 1 - 2 inches long, narrow and blunt. The upper half is branched, with a compact cluster of flowers at the tip of the stem, 1/2 - 3/4 inch long, with 5 round, yellow petals 1 1/4 inches across.
